Kiosk monitoring and remote diagnostics

KioskSide monitoring helps teams identify offline devices and assess whether supported system parameters remain within a safe operating range.

Online status as the first signal

The dashboard shows when the kiosk last communicated with the platform. This separates active devices from terminals that lost network access, powered down or need investigation.

System and hardware telemetry

Supported Linux devices can report system load, memory, temperatures, throttling, disks, partitions, SMART health, network quality, monitor information and service status.

  • 1-hour, 24-hour and 30-day averages
  • CPU and storage temperatures
  • disk capacity and LVM allocation
  • network interface and latency
  • Chromium and KioskSide services

Trends instead of one measurement

A brief spike during page loading or video decoding is normal. Historical averages and maximum temperatures make sustained performance or cooling problems easier to recognise.

Energy estimates and costs

When hardware exposes an energy counter, actual data can be used. Otherwise the dashboard may display an estimate in Wh and kWh based on device activity and the configured electricity rate.

Estimated values do not replace an external power meter or supplier invoice.

Remote operator actions

Authorised operators can use the features supported by a platform build, including screen preview and selected service commands. Access is protected by account permissions.

Frequently asked questions

Is telemetry identical on every platform?

No. Detail depends on the operating system, application version, drivers and sensors exposed by the hardware.

Is energy usage measured or estimated?

It is measured only when the device exposes a suitable counter; otherwise the value is clearly treated as an estimate.

Can an operator see the kiosk screen?

Yes, for devices and application versions that support remote preview and when the operator has permission.

Would you like to test this scenario on your device?

Send us the basic kiosk specifications and the content you plan to display.
