A minimal dedicated system
A lightweight Linux installation can run the kiosk browser and KioskSide agent without a full general-purpose desktop. This reduces background services and keeps the device focused on its task.
Automatic startup and browser display
After boot, the agent activates the kiosk, launches the assigned content on HDMI or DisplayPort and restores the view after service or browser failure.
Network onboarding
When no network is available, the activation-style screen can provide a QR-assisted Wi-Fi setup path. Ethernet remains useful for fixed installations requiring stable connectivity.
Detailed system telemetry
Supported hardware can report load averages, memory, CPU and storage temperature, SMART status, disks and partitions, networking, displays, services and estimated energy usage.
Peripheral-ready architecture
Linux provides a practical base for future integration with printers, sensors and other kiosk peripherals. Each device still requires driver and workflow testing.
